The Train Mural

Driving on scenic, MN Highway 23, through Askov, you cannot miss the 2,000 square foot mural of a logging train on the west wall of the Pine County Historical Society Museum. The mural was painted by local artist, Lucas Campbell in 2020, and is one of the largest, most prominent murals he has completed in his over three- decade long history of mural-painting.

The Train Mural was funded through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council through an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature. Support was also provided by a generous, memorial gift from the Kane Benjamin Nelson family.
